Singapore 09 National BikeTrial Championship - Round 3

It has been a while since I updated this blog. I have not been going hashing with the geeks for a long time now. The main reason is that I have been concentrating on BikeTrial and training a lot.

Learning is slow and requires a lot of focus... LOL. Most of my blog updates are focused on BikeTrials and I keep track of my progress at the other blog... Heheh. Anyway, recently I went to Singapore for a BikeTrial competition and here is a brief report.

The Round 3 of the Singapore 2009 National BikeTrial Championship was held in Bukit Batok Town Park on Oct 4th. I was there to capture the event on photos and videos.

For this round, a couple of things stand out and affected the overall competition; the format and the sections layout.

Elmina - 18 and 19 July Ride

Geeks,

We have recently re-visited Elmina 3 times within last 2 months.
Seems like the place is "accessible" again. So far, has not been
chased off by Slime Darby. But we do avoid the main gantry where
estate manager stays.

Please ride in a large group (min 5) if you choose to go. We
encountered a few fellars (looked like gang members) during one
of the rides.

By avoiding the main gantry, the ride was fun too. But plenty of
hills climbs. I believe we did about 20KM.

Putrajaya Bike Park - 10 Jan 2009

First of all, we just want to say, "Jack, you missed the fun. Hahahaha".

We tried to follow the same trail Andreas shown us in previous ride. It was not that hard to recognize those trail since mostly single track and end up somewhere tarmac road again. What we should have done differently in the next ride is to use tarmac to climb, and offroad downhill :)

We met Didi Schneider, the architect of the Putrajaya Park. Didi is the one in Orange T-Shirt. Errr....... Correction. His is the one in front of me. Hehe.)

Dont be fool by his beer belly. He can fly !!!!

Thanks Andreas for introducing us the trial, and also to Didi.
